(I cant be the only one with this issue) The program still works and like I said its already paid for in full so I want to use it for as long as I can. So I am hoping someone will know a fix for my issue. of course going to Teamviewer the program manufacturer with the issue I am experiencing will be them just telling me to update to a new version. So in short using GDM 3 - Teamviewer is unusable - using lightdm - everything works perfectly for Teamviewer.
and it works with Teamviewer 12 without issue. I have also installed Mate from scratch as my DE with ubuntu 20.04 base as a test. Once I login to gnome shell using lightdm then everything works perfectly Teamviewer wise. If I change to lightdm as my display manager (sudo apt-get install lightdm)Then configure lightdm as the display manager and reboot. If I use GDM3 for my display manager - my Teamviewer all the sudden will not connect to the teamviewer servers to allow me to see my clients - and I if I login to a machine that is using Ubuntu 20.04 and that machine is using GDM3 then I get a black screen when connecting to Teamviewer. I think have narrowed the problem down to GDM3. (but with a blank screen so you cant actually take control. (this is where I can see my client computers in the program) Also the same computer that cant connect to computers and contacts is allowing other computers to connect to it. Yes i know Teamviewer 12 is older but its bought and paid for, I have Teamviewer 12 running on about 400 clients and have no issues using it for daily help for my clients.Īll of the sudden Teamviewer on multiple boxes that I personally use 20.04 on are having issues connecting to the computers and contacts module of Teamviewer. I ran both beta and final with zero issues using Teamviewer 12. Granted I am not expert but, I have been running 20.04 beta since it came out and then final 20.04. I think there is an "issue" with GDM3 in Ubuntu 20.04 when trying to use Teamviewer 12. I am not an expert in anyway shape or form.
